We fetched 20 official Korean market data sources on 11 August 2026 and recorded what actually happened. Four URLs that are still handed around in English no longer deliver what they promise — one of them, the old Korea Exchange English domain, has no DNS record at all. This page is re-checked weekly, and the date at the top is the only thing that makes it worth reading.

Why a directory like this goes stale faster for Korea
Most link directories are written once and then quietly rot. That happens everywhere. It happens faster for Korean sources, for a reason that has nothing to do with the quality of the sites: Korean institutions reorganise their English sections independently of their Korean ones. The Korean URL keeps working while the English one moves, narrows, or disappears.
We did not have to look far for examples. Of the sources on this page, one ministry has been renamed outright, one regulator’s English microsite has been folded into its main domain, and one statistics portal’s English path now lands on a Korean-language site. All three of those Korean-language equivalents are fine.
So we do not publish a list. We publish a list with a check date, and re-run the check weekly. The tables below are generated from that check rather than typed by hand, so the status and the date cannot drift apart.

One clarification, because it matters if you are fixing links: news.kotra.or.kr and english.motie.go.kr are not broken — both redirect to a working successor. We separate “moved” from “broken” because only the second kind needs your attention, and telling someone their working link is dead is worse than saying nothing.

How we check, and what we refuse to claim
- GET, never HEAD. Several Korean sites —
dart.fss.or.kramong them — return an error to a HEAD request and a normal page to a GET. Our first pass used HEAD and marked three working sites as dead. - HTTP 403 and timeouts are recorded as unverifiable, never as dead. A 403 usually means the site blocks automated requests. That is not evidence a human cannot reach it.
- A redirect inside the same host is not a move. Only a change of host counts, which is why the Bank of Korea and KOTRA are marked live rather than moved.
- A redirect that lands on an error page, or that drops an English path onto a Korean-language site, is flagged. Those are the two failure modes that cost an English reader something.
- The check is scripted and the output is public as JSON, so you can disagree with our classification and read the raw result.
What we add to this list
We publish one thing that is not otherwise on it: a daily record of foreign, institutional and retail net buying across 2,555 KOSPI and KOSDAQ names, under CC BY 4.0 with a citable DOI. It exists because the Korean-language sources carry that data and the English ones largely do not — the same gap that makes this directory necessary in the first place.
It sits in the table under Open datasets, in the place it belongs rather than at the top.
